Nokia unveils new smartphone

/ 10 January, 2012

Nokia unveiled their new smartphone yesterday, the Lumia 900, which is its first 4g LTE phone.

The Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) device was revealed by Nokia CEO Stephen Elop at a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Elop was joined by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, who emphasised the work required to catch up on their smartphone rivals. “We have a lot of room to go in terms of selling Windows phones,” Ballmer said. Windows Phone has less than 3% of the smartphone market.

The phone has a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon processor, an 1830 mAh battery and 16GB of internal storage.

Few further details of the phone were discussed and the price was not disclosed, although the Lumia 900’s high-quality front and rear-facing cameras were lauded.
