Nokia phones took their turn at Microsoft’s Build 2014 developers’ conference, too–and not a moment too soon, given the latest smartphone announcements from Android rivals. At the Wednesday keynote, Nokia’s Stephen Elop announced the Nokia Lumia 930, the international variant to the Nokia Lumia Icon that the company recently launched on Verizon Wireless in the US.

The Lumia 930 is fueled by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. Like the Icon, it features 32GB of internal storage, Qi wireless charging, and a 5-inch 1080p display.
Nokia spent much of the announcement touting the Lumia 930’s camera abilities. It has a 20-megapixel camera and a passel of photo-editing apps provided by Nokia. Creative Studio, for instance, allows you to edit high-resolution photos directly on the phone and add filters and framing. Elop also said it’s capable of “non-destructive editing capabilities.” Whe

n you’re done editing, you can share those images with your various social networks, including Instagram and Facebook.

Nokia also made a minor update to its Storyteller application, which comes standard with its latest line of devices and now lets you weave in your own music in a photo timeline. Additionally, the company spotlighted its performance digital microphones and the phone’s directional sound recording capabilities, which is meant to help directly pinpoint the microphone on the subject of your movie.

The Finnish phone maker also

announced more plans to take over emerging markets with the mid-rangeLumia 630 and 635. The Lumia 630 is available as a single- or dual-SIM device, while the Lumia 635 is strictly dual-SIM but supports 4G LTE. These devices will run Windows Phone 8.1 and feature all of the standard Windows Phone software, including Cortana and Sensor Core, which tracks motion and location so that fitness apps can tell you how you’re doing on those steps.
The Lumia 930 will be released globally beginning in June, while the Lumia 630 and 635 will start rolling out next month. Nokia said that its mid-range devices will come to the US in July, but so far only T-Mobile has confirmed.
