Crayon, a software assessment management provider, has returned to GITEX Technology Week to promote brand awareness and increase customer engagement.

Throughout the week, the company’s core aim has been to make new and existing customers understand how Crayon’s services can assist in driving IT operational efficiency within a business.

Ziad Rizk, General Manager (Enterprise), Crayon, commented on how the company’s software assessment management (SAM) service often shocks customers in terms of seeing how they simply do not have control over their software.

“Our mission statement is: ‘SAM first, cloud first’, which means we start with the assessment, and once we have rationalised it all, we can move our customers in to the cloud to enhance operational efficiencies,” said Rizk. “One of the things we really try to resonate with our customers is a risk-reward assessment that we do. We show them the gaps within their software and then the rewards of how they can really drive this money-saving service.”

Cost-efficiency has been a key talking point for Crayon with their customers at this years event.

“We have had a lot of our customers asking how we can help them drive down costs. In this situation, we talk about our three pillars, which are people, process and technology. We then ask our customers ‘how do you manage the entire software cycle?’, and then go on to identifying what it is they really need and how we can procure it,” said Rizk.

“We can help customers understand how to implement these processes, whilst also having the tools to help them take control of the software on a real-time basis, and avoid any potential audit issues that may arise.”

After firmly stating that Crayon will be returning to GITEX in the future, Rizk has been impressed with the week’s turn of events. “I think the GITEX team do a fantastic job, and I have really seen the exhibition evolve over the last few years in many ways. A noticeable difference for me at this event is the different personas from a company that attend, which I believe is important as we move into an era where IT now has an influence on every aspect of a company. I also like how enterprise and consumer are kept separate at this event, as I think that benefits the type of customers that visit our stand,” said Rizk. “I will definitely be coming back.”
