Following five decades of worldwide success including over 15 years of steady year-on-year growth in the Middle East, Swiss structured cabling specialist, R&M is set to celebrate its 50th year anniversary by making a strong impact at the upcoming GITEX Technology Week, taking place from the 12th to the 16th of October, 2014. The company will demonstrate its highly customisable portfolio of Data Center, Office Cabling and FTTx products, aligning them with the needs of the region’s public, industrial, banking and finance, oil and gas, education and healthcare sectors.
In a joint statement, Martin and Peter Reichle, the company owners said, “Over the last 50 years, R&M has grown from strength to strength while remaining true to the core values and ethics of our family-owned organisation. We are now one of the leading cabling suppliers in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, thanks to our sustainable strategy of establishing a local presence, streamlining the supply chain, establishing technical expertise and strategic marketing, and customising our portfolio according to the needs of local markets. GITEX is the perfect platform for us to commemorate our landmark anniversary together with our valued customers and partners.”
To mark the milestone, Martin and Peter Reichle together with Michel Riva, the CEO and all top-level R&M executives for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa will attend the exhibition and host a celebration and dinner for over 100 of the company’s customers and partners. R&M’s recent successes in the region include the establishment of a new facility in Riyadh, expansion into Turkey and Africa, and strengthening its GCC teams with the hiring of additional sales and technical.
At GITEX, in line with the growing complexity of data center cabling, the company will exhibit its R&MinteliPhy solution for Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM). The system reduces both cost and complexity by automating cable management and enabling remote monitoring and multi-site support. For the connectivity needs of offices, R&M will highlight the capabilities of its Dubai-based patch cord assembly facility which produces the highest-quality, individually tested Cat.6A cabling. These have now overtaken Cat.6 cabling as the basic industry standard, and the cabling facility enables R&M to deliver patch cords of customized colour, casing material and printed serial number in very short turn-around times.
Full-scale fiber optic (FO) networks are being aggressively deployed by telcos in the region to meet ever growing data transmission demands. R&M’s Venus FLA2, Venus FXL, Venus FXXL, which have recently been added to its industry acclaimed Venus family of FTTx products, make possible the implementation of point-to-multipoint infrastructures (P2MP) and clear the way for Fiber To The Building (FTTB) and Fiber To The Home (FTTH). These solutions can be seamlessly integrated with R&M’s recently launched HD SCM Cross Connection Cabinet for a complete and reliable FTTH solution. R&M’s HD SCM tray systems can house up to 50 percent more fiber optic connections than similarly sized boxes, and are proving to be an indispensable tool in the expansion of FTTH networks in region.
Commenting on the company’s goals for its GITEX participation, Jean-Pierre Labry, Executive Vice-President of R&M Middle East, Turkey and Africa said, “We have clearly identified our objectives for GITEX- strengthen relationships with existing partners and customers; demonstrate our latest solutions to attract new partnerships, and gain insights into market trends and requirements through engagement with regional ICT decision makers.”
The company also hopes to make further inroads into the Central African IT market by engaging with IT decision makers from the region who will be attending GITEX. “We see huge potential in Africa as it is an emerging market and connectivity is one of main IT requirements in every high-growth sector. This is why we have earmarked North, East and West Africa as focus areas for our efforts and expansion,” said Jean-Pierre Labry.
The company’s stand is D1-37 which is located in Hall 1 of the Dubai World Trade Center.
