Ericsson and Zain have recently announced a partnership which will see Ericsson’s Radio Dot System deployed in Bahrain.

The solution is implemented in Zain’s new Network Operation Centre. This is one of the first implementations in the region and demonstrates the solution’s ability to cater for the fast-growing demand for data traffic of the consumers.

The signing ceremony took place during the recent Mobile World Congress week in Barcelona, and was attended by Scott Gegenheimer, CEO Zain Group, Mohammed Zainalabedien, CEO Zain Bahrain, Rafiah Ibrahim, President Ericsson Region Middle East, as well as other officials from both ends.

Ericsson’s Radio Dot System is a cost-effective solution that can improve mobile network performance inside buildings. It introduces a revolutionary antenna element, or “Dot,” weighing less than 300 grams and that is quick and easy to install. The solution is designed to support operators in consistently delivering a better user experience for both voice and data in the broadest range of enterprise buildings and public venues.

The solution will fully integrate with Zain’s network and provide seamless coverage for Zain’s consumer and enterprise customers in the broadest range of deployment scenarios. It will ensure consistent delivery of an excellent customer experience in voice and data services.

Zain Bahrain, Technology Director Hamad Al Rumaihi: “Ericsson’s Radio Dot system will enable us to offer our customers a better user experience. We are consistently placing the needs of our customers first, and this system will ensure that they enjoy the best indoor mobile connectivity.”

Patrik Melander, Head of Global Customer Unit Zain at Ericsson, “Our Radio Dot System delivers the high performance standards which Zain demands, which is vital to provide the customer experience they are seeking. With Radio Dot, we will be proudly assisting the people of Bahrain to continue on the path to the Networked Society.”
